Your Guide-Tours- Kayaking-Testimonials

Experience west coast wildlife, rainforests and outdoor adventure on Vancouver Islands' most scenically diverse informational sightseeing ecotour. Edge of the World Ecotours is located in Port Renfrew ( 2 hrs west of Victoria) so you can experience the many geographic marvels of the west coast; colliding crustal plates, faults, mountains, rain forests and a plethora of wildlife, bird life and flora, natural wonders and scenery second to none. No other tour takes you from amazing tide pools and river estuaries to the top of mountains for wildlife viewing and panoramic vistas. Guided by a forestry professional and local, you'll travel backroads to sights and glean information never before offered to "sightseeing tourists". You'll see and learn about forestry firsthand, and not from company or environmental/preservationist propaganda. Edge of the World Ecotours is meant to be fun and allow you to experience as much west coast phenomena in a day as possible. Our goal is to make you go "WOW" and Edge of the World Tours has enjoyed 100% success.

Port Renfrew Kayaking
Relax and paddle upriver with the tide through moss covered spruce forests of the San Juan River estuary and delta. You never know what sealife, birds, waterfowl and mammals and fish you'll encounter since every paddle and season is different. Herons, hawks, eagles, osprey, trumpeter swans, loads of ducks and geese, elk, bear, mink, seals, beaver and river otters are abundant and you may encounter the magic floating rocks of the San Juan. The waters are easy for beginners to enjoy and whitewater IS NOT part of the program. Cruise upriver, millions of Salmon can't be wrong Field Marshall Recommendation - Fall paddling is AMAZING. Spawning salmon attract bears and HUNDREDS of Bald Eagles, Hawks and Vultures, Mid September to January.

Why Port Renfrew? In 20 years, I've planted all over Ontario, northern Alberta and everywhere in BC, experiencing gorgeous landscapes and great people. Bushwork can be brutal but I've been addicted to the multitude of views and natural phenomena that I've been able to witness from my office on the cutblock. That's why I've chosen to live and work in Port Renfrew. Here the ocean meets the rainforest covered mountains providing diversity and richness in natural wonders and life that is second to none. Everyday is an adventure and it is possible to see and learn new things. That's what I share with you on the tours. There isn't another tour like it simply because the "others" do not have what I have to work with. Come visit the Edge of the World, it's a treasure I love to share
